Kristin and Jason were recently married at the prettiest town hall in greater Boston: Arlington Town Hall. What’s unique about Arlington Town Hall is that they can host wedding receptions. A few notes about their wedding… their insanely cool wedding cake was designed by Wildflour. Kristin’s shoes were from Betsey Johnson. Veronica of Blue Ivy Events coordinated their wedding day, and Nate of White Label Wedding DJs was their DJ. Bow Street Flowers designed their floral arrangements, which included blue roses flown in from Europe.

These are some of my favorite photos from Meredith and Todd’s recent wedding at the Pierce House in Lincoln. We have some mutual friends, so this wedding was especially fun for me to photograph.

People sometimes ask me who designed my website. It really has been a collaboration between Eric Kass (who designed my logo), Todd (who made WordPress customizations & helped with the general design), and me. Todd is also a wonderful photographer!

In early October I photographed Danielle and Richard’s wedding at Elm Court. Located in the Berkshires, Elm Court is a Vanderbilt family estate. From these photos, it’s hard to believe that until fairly recently Elm Court was abandoned for 50 years. This beautifully restored estate set the stage for one of my favorite weddings this year.

I keep telling myself: “You can make it!” Since the beginning of April I’ve photographed 34 weddings and delivered over 17,000 images to clients. I still have a few more weddings to go before the New England wedding season ends in mid-November, but I can see the end in sight. And the end of wedding season doesn’t mean the end of work. It means the beginning of a time when I can work on all the behind-the-scenes tasks such as accounting, web updates, gallery hosting updates, and a whole bunch of other stuff I want and need to do for the business. So far I’ve booked 23 weddings for 2012, which is crazy, and far ahead of where I was at this time last year. I’m aiming for 40 weddings next year, which is three fewer weddings than I’ll photograph this year.

Here are some highlights from a wedding I photographed in September — Sarah and Edgar’s wedding at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel in Boston. I loved their wedding and these people. And so I thought I’d share some of their photos with you.

Sarah and McGreggor were married on the most popular wedding date this year: 9/10/11. Most photographers, including me, booked this wedding date very, very early. For months I turned away inquiries for 9/10/11 because I was booked. And then the phone call came…. “Lisa, our venue closed and we’re not getting married this year.” But I had turned away dozens of couples! I realized that I may not be doing what I love on the biggest wedding day this year. Then I got an email from Sarah. As soon as we met, I thought “things happen for a reason.”

A few notes about their wedding: Sarah and McGreggor are super crafty and Sarah sewed the ribbon belt on her dress. She also designed their stationery. McGreggor created all of the table flower arrangements. Sarah wore her grandmother’s veil, which was also worn by Sarah’s mother, aunt  and cousins at their weddings.
