Jenny and David are engaged. Their wedding is one of six that I’m photographing next year at the Boston Public Library. You’ll see them again here on the blog in June, 2012.

These are a few of my favorite photographs from Chrissy and Tim’s wedding at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. Chrissy is a bookmaker and illustrator and designed all of the paper goods (stationery, program, invitations & signage). Her dress and purse were created by her friend. Guest tables were named after 19th Century inventors.

You’ll notice there are clocks in a few photos — Waltham, Massachusetts was home to the Waltham watch and clock company and clockmaking is part of the City’s history. I like to take lots of detail photos because they tell so much about the place and time, and the things people enjoy and value. I actually have a Waltham watch from the 1920′s. It was my great-great-aunt’s prized possession and it still works!

One year ago I switched from a flash portfolio site  to a blog-based wedding photography website. It was a great business decision and I’ve never looked back. While I’ve been happy that my blog is the first thing most web visitors encounter, I still needed an area where people could view my best wedding photographs all in once place. I wanted an image-based space where people could experience the photographs without a lot of text or other visual distractions. Since the iPad is one of my favorite gadgets, it was also important that the site not use flash.

So please take some time to visit my new portfolio site. Even though it’s very simple, I promise to keep things interesting by rotating the photographs on a regular basis.

On Thanksgiving Eve, I photographed Courtney and Paul at Christopher Columbus Park and in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. You’ll see them here on the blog next September, when they’ll be married at the Exchange Conference Center in Boston.

I recently photographed Katie and Doug’s wedding at St. Mary’s Church in Charlestown and the State Room in Boston. A few notes about their wedding: Emilie Chang from Pink Orchid Weddings did a beautiful job coordinating. Demiche Beauty provided hair styling. Makeup was by Katrina Hess. The band Men In Black played at their reception.

I want to thank my good friend and second shooter, Li Ward of Fat Orange Cat Studio. I always have so much fun working with her! This set of photos represents a true collaboration between us.

I photographed Laura and TJ’s engagement session in Boston’s Back Bay a few weeks ago. You’ll see their wedding photos here next year, when they have their wedding at Fuller Gardens in North Hampton, New Hampshire.

October was the month of all months not only for weddings, but also for engagement photo sessions. Last month I photographed Caitlin and Dean at the Boston Public Garden and around Beacon Hill. You’ll see their wedding next year here on the blog, when they will be married at the State Room in Boston.
