Cassie & Tom's Wedding at the Dennis Inn, Cape Cod

Cassie and Tom recently had their wedding at the Dennis Inn. Having their wedding at this venue was special, since Cassie’s dad owns the Inn and she worked there during the summers for years.

Their families traveled from near and far to attend this wedding. While Cassie is a New England girl, Tom is from the UK. He and Cassie met in London.

Kelly & John's Vegan Wedding at Deerfield Academy

Kelly and John had their wedding at Deerfield Academy. John is from Deerfield and went to the school at the Academy and Kelly is from Nashville.

Kelly had some of her guy friends as attendants. I’m seeing this more and more at weddings lately. I like it.
Kelly is from Nashville and has some musical friends. They played a Hank Williams song — complete with washboard — as Kelly and John walked down the aisle.
Right after the ceremony I followed Kelly and John “backstage” where their family and close friends were congratulating them. The moments right after the ceremony are always so happy! Makes for nice photos.:)
I didn’t realize that the usual method of producing silk involves boiling the silkworms alive. Not a good omen for your wedding day! Kelly’s dress was made from “cruelty-free” silk worms, as in: “no silk worms were harmed in the making of this fabric.” There was also some recycled silk in her dress too. Kelly’s dress was by Chrissy Wai Ching. Bubble glass necklace from the Museum of Modern Art Store. John’s suit by J. Crew.
Kelly wore two bracelets: One from each of her grandmothers. The ID bracelet at right was a gift from her grandfather to her grandmother.
For a year before their wedding, Kelly and John collected vintage salt and pepper shakers as favors for their wedding guests. They attached vintage office cards to the shakers and used them as seating cards. So if your vintage tag/seating card had a pepper shaker, your seat had the matching salt shaker. When they could, they even matched them to the guests’ personalities and interests!
I’ve been eating a lot of cupcakes lately… at weddings of course.  I now know that not all cupcakes are created equal. These cupcakes, which happened to be vegan, were among the best… no… THE BEST cupcakes that I’ve had at a wedding this season.
I take lots of people photos like the ones below. People photos are usually the bulk of the reception images that I include in photo collections. I know that all of the wedding blogs are really into showing details, and I definitely capture those too. But for me the details aren’t what wedding photography is about. They’re fun and interesting, but for the couples I work with, their families, and guests, the people photos are what they end up treasuring the most.
This little girl cracked me up. She was doing some kind of wild dance by herself on the dance floor. I love her outfit!
The food at this wedding was all vegan and so, sooo good. If anyone attending thought that they would miss meat at this wedding, I think they quickly changed their mind when they were served this vegan feast. Of course, I got to eat this food too. Yummers! I actually went home and made some vegan dishes that week.
Anyone who plays Can and Brian Eno at their wedding is ok by me…:)

Elizabeth & Jason: Wedding at the MIT Chapel & Oleana Restaurant

Elizabeth and Jason are a very creative couple. He’s an architect and MIT grad, and she’s a personal chef and graduate of Wellesley. They’ve been together for seven years and make their home in an old piano factory. They’re both from the South but they met in Boston. A few weeks ago they were married at the MIT Chapel and had their reception at Oleana.

Elizabeth’s wedding day makeup by Boston makeup artist, Dani Wagener.
The gorgeous, natural and organic looking flower arrangements were designed by Boston’s Petalena Flowers. Eye candy!
Elizabeth and Jason designed their wedding invitations, at left below. Each guest received a box of handmade chocolates — made with love by Elizabeth and Jason. They’re a very talented couple!
Over the years that they’ve been together, Elizabeth and Jason have written many little notes to each other. They read some of these notes to each other during the wedding ceremony and then posted some of their favorites on a board (below) at the reception.
Both Elizabeth and Jason are serious foodies and Elizabeth is a personal chef. They asked me to take some great photographs of the food.  Of course, I got to eat it this delicious food too!

Norah & Chris: Wedding at the MIT Chapel & Oleana, Cambridge

Their engagement session put them in the running for most adorable couple ever. Yes, Norah and Chris got married. Their wedding ceremony was at the MIT Chapel and the reception was at Oleana Restaurant.

Renee & Paul's Wedding at The Pierce House in Lincoln

I recently photographed Renee and Paul’s wedding at The Pierce House in Lincoln, Massachusetts. There was so much love at this wedding — not only between Renee and Paul but also between their families and guests. As I was leaving, I thought “this is why I photograph weddings.”

Renee danced with both of her parents. Below, she dances with her mother.

Their wedding just happened to fall on Paul’s father’s 70th birthday. Guests celebrated with a cake.

Last photograph of the day, below.

Caroline & Al's Wedding at Arlingtown Town Hall

Who knew that a town hall could be so beautiful? Caroline and Al recently had their wedding at the Arlington Town Hall in Massachusetts. Caroline grew up in Arlington so it was fitting that they would have their wedding there.

They had their first look and portraits before the ceremony, in one of the upstairs rooms at Town Hall. Normally I would do the first look outdoors, but the light and atmosphere inside was really nice.

Their ceremony was originally scheduled to be held outdoors, but it started raining so we moved inside. You really can’t go wrong at this venue for an outside or indoor wedding.

Seasoned To Taste catered the wedding. The food was excellent!
