Cathedral of the Holy Cross & The Boston Public Library: Caitlin & Matt

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a year. I met Caitlin and Matt after I took too many photos of them as guests at their friends’ wedding. There’s always *that* couple or person at every wedding who are so full of life that I find my camera chasing after them.

Caitlin and Matt grew up in the same town, met when they were kids, and dated as teenagers. Their moms are best friends. It was so much fun to see these two families — who are obviously close and have so much history — combine into one family.

From Dani Wagener and Lotus Designs to Boston Uplights and The Marsels, so many Boston creatives helped Caitlin and Matt realize their vision of a “night in the city” wedding at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and the Boston Public Library. I’ve listed credits and details at the end of this post.

These photographs are a Rigby & Ward collaboration.

Crystal & Sean's Wedding at St. Joseph's Church & Stonehurst

I recently photographed Crystal and Sean’s wedding at St. Joseph’s Church and Stonehurst. A few notes about their wedding…. flowers were provided by Petalena. Makeup by Dani Wagener. Uplighting at Stonehurst provided by Boston Uplights. Crystal’s dress by La Sposa. A special thank you to Shari DeAngelo, who traveled from Philadelphia and served as second shooter.

Word to photographers: do not run while photographing. You WILL fall. At the start of the ceremony I tripped on the granite church step and broke my big toe. Thankfully it takes a while for those things to really start throbbing so soldiered on and we got some wonderful photographs.:)

Erica + Mike's October Wedding

When Erica contacted me earlier this year about photographing her October 31st wedding, she already had a vision of her wedding day. We talked about a rustic, classic, fall wedding with romantic portraits and attention to detail. Ten months later, I have to say she really pulled it off!

Erica and Mike’s wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

A bagpiper honored Erica’s Scottish heritage. He played as she walked down the aisle. I dig his outfit, big-time.

Erica and Mike also had a hand fastening (cord tying) during their ceremony. I didn’t know this, but this Celtic ritual is where the term “tying the knot” comes from.

As a graphic designer, Erica was very creative about her wedding. She designed and created many of these details herself.

A cigar roller was on hand to roll regular and honey-flavored cigars. Custom cigar bands and matchbooks had the skull and crossbones icon which was used throughout the wedding.
