Once in a while I photograph a wedding that’s like a dream. On a Saturday in July I got up early and drove from Boston to Ancramdale, NY to photograph Katie and Ahmad’s wedding. I’m always thinking about traffic and I can’t be late, so I leave reeeaaally early for weddings. When I arrived at the Mass/NY border it was over an hour before schedule. So I went for a walk in the woods, and sat on a rock near a pond filled with lily pads. All by myself. A full day of photographing lay ahead, but it was a wonderful way to start work.
On the tail of a heat wave, it was 97 degrees that day in Ancramdale, NY. As I got closer to the barn the cell phone signal was lost. I drove down an unpaved road with handmade signs. And there it was… Katie and Ahmad’s wedding at Circa 1799 Barn.
