Mary and Sean were recently married at Christ the King Church at URI with a reception at the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island. I lived in Rhode Island for a long time — in Little Compton and Providence — so it is always nice to go back to my old state. Memories!
Weddings are always happy occasions, but this was probably one of the most joyful weddings I photographed all season. As I was working on these photos, I was struck by how often people seemed so incredibly happy.
A few details: Mary wore her mother’s wedding veil from 1974. The red touches of color in jewelry and flowers were a tribute to Mary’s father, who has passed.
